										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Duplex Steel</strong> Material has a metallurgical structure that comprises of two stages, 50% austenitic stainless steel and ferrite (body focused cubic cross section) in generally measure up to extents. It is the recent addition to the stainless steel family.  This structure gives all of the Duplex Steel Grade innumerable features such as strength and increased corrosion resistance combined with toughness and ductility. <strong>Super Duplex Steel</strong> Material, on the other hand offers greater strength and corrosion resistance as compared to its duplex counterpart.</p>
<p>Super Duplex Steel offers greater corrosion resistance as well as increased strength as compared to the Duplex version, especially because of the presence of additional molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content in the super duplex steel. The same material is used for the fabrication of Duplex steel but the usage ratio varies slightly and the change in ration leads to additional physical and chemical property to the super duplex variant. Duplex steel has a ductile or brittle transition at approximately -50 degrees. The most used duplex stainless steels are the 2205 (22% Chromium, 5% Nickel) and the 2507 (25% Chromium, 7% Nickel); 2507 is known as “super duplex”. Grade of <strong>Duplex Steel S32205</strong> are in most cases, tougher than the ferric stainless steel. The corrosion resistance of the least resistant duplex stainless steel are greater than the most commonly used stainless steel variants such as the 304 or the 316. The Duplex Steel S31803 grade has underwent a number of modifications bringing about <strong>UNS S32205</strong>. The micro constituents of this grade precipitate at temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius and at temperatures below -50, they go brittle. So they aren’t suitable for use at extreme temperatures. The increased marine corrosion resistance of Super Duplex Steel Round Bars makes them the preferred choice for oil &amp; gas as well as the marine industries. The high chromium and molybdenum content in the Super Duplex Steel Pipes makes them suitable for a number of under-water applications especially because of its increased chloride resistance and high mechanical strength. Duplex Steel Sheets &amp; Plates in varied thicknesses such as 0-1 mm, 1-2 mm, 2-3 mm, 3-4 mm, 4-5 mm or &gt;5 mm are generally the preferred versions. The pitting resistance figured by PREN = Cr + 3.3Mo + 16N, will surpass 40 in most material structures.</p>
<p>LDX 2101 is a low nickel, nitrogen based lean duplex stainless steel just like the 304 form, however with substantially higher mechanical quality which enables it to be used in slender cross sections resulting in cost saving. 2304 and 2505 are the most commonly used grades of the duplex genre while 2507 is the preferred super duplex alloy. <p>The physical and chemical properties of SMO 254 Round Bars allow it to be used under extreme environments such as sea water and chloride based applications.  The SMO 254 Pipes offered are preferred for oil distillation columns, food processing equipments as well as bleaching equipments among others majorly because they are annealed, pickled, and cold drawn and polished as per requirements. All the products of SMO 254 grade exhibit great welding properties although they require filler materials which maintains the strength of the material. Hot working of these products above the temperature range of 982 -1142 degree Celsius, results into scaling and reduced workability of the material. Post process annealing is preferred in order to retain its maximum corrosion resistance. Although cold working of these materials are a little difficult, it can be performed as per all the traditional methods and the outcome is an increased strength and toughness.</p>
<p><strong>SMO 254</strong> Flanges and SMO 254 Pipe Fittings are a cost effective alternatives for high nickel and titanium alloys, in a range of applications. They offer great workability and an increased connectivity to pipes. Also, they have a longer service life in the refining industry from low to high pressure applications. SMO 254 Sheets &amp; Plates are 2 mm to 3 mm thick, and the high molybdenum content combined with nickel and copper offers an imperviousness to setting and fissure erosion particularly in situation containing particles such as bromide, chloride, and fluoride solutions. Therefore, they are preferred over the 300 series for sea water applications, marine solutions and shut circle water frameworks among others.</p>
<p>The thermal expansion co-efficient of this grade at 20 – 100<sup>0 </sup>C / 68 – 212<sup>0</sup> F is metric 16.5 µm/m<sup>0</sup>C or 9.17 µin/in<sup>0</sup>F imperial, where as the thermal conductivity is 14 W/mK or 97.2 BTU in/hr.ft<sup>2</sup>.<sup>0</sup>F. These materials are not quite receptive to heat treatment and so, hardening of these materials can only be done through cold reduction.</p>
